Property for sale in Zwickau
Zwickau lies in the west of Saxony, about 40 km south-west of Chemnitz, on the river Zwickauer Mulde. With around 87,000 inhabitants it is the fourth-largest city in the state. Its name is tied to German car making: Horch and Audi were founded here, the Trabant was built here in GDR times, and Volkswagen now produces electric cars at its plant in the Mosel district. The composer Robert Schumann was born in the town, and the Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau, a university of applied sciences, brings students to the city.
Purchase prices for flats in Zwickau are among the lowest in Germany. That suits buyers who want a small investment with a modest outlay, or parents looking for a flat for a child studying at the local university. Three apartments are currently on offer here. None of them is let, so a buyer can choose a tenant or move in without waiting for a lease to end.
